Bedroom Feng Shui
The bedroom could be considered the most sacred room in the house. It is in the bedroom where you rest and rejuvenate. It is also where you are most intimate. And because these actions are vital to your well-being, it's important to allow for healthy energy flow in your bedroom.
Let's start with the bed itself. The bed is usually the largest object and focal point of a bedroom. Because of this, placement of the bed is a critical part of Feng Shui in the bedroom. The bed should ideally be placed diagonally opposite the door. The foot of the bed should never be facing the door, nor should a mirror be facing the bed. The head of the bed should be placed against a wall. There should be space on either side of the bed so that if two people are sharing the bed one does not have to climb over the other. If bedside tables are used, they should be symmetrical and never on only one side. Beds should also be raised and without boxes of old items stored underneath.
The bedroom is primarily a place of rest and should be treated as such. Proper Feng Shui in the bedroom means creating a restful environment. Items that stimulate of distract have no place in the bedroom. Books, which stimulate the mind, should be limited to only what you are currently reading. Telephones are so frequently kept on bedside tables. This is not conducive to restful energy as telephones prevent relaxation. And cell phones should certainly be kept in the office or briefcase. If you must have an alarm clock, it should be in the opposite side of the room from the bed.
Pictures and other furnishings should represent the occupants of a bedroom. A couple's bedroom should display objects only in pairs. Photographs of children or parents do not belong in a couple's bedroom as those subjects do not promote intimacy.
Mirrors in the bedroom must be placed carefully. It is not good to have a mirror directly facing the bed, and it is equally undesirable to have a mirror facing the entrance to a bedroom. Mirrors can be beneficial, though. Mirrors can be used to draw in views from outside the bedroom. And when bed placement prevents seeing someone enter the bedroom, a mirror can be used to see the doorway from the bed.
These are some basic rules of Feng Shui for the bedroom. Using these guidelines can help develop a more restful and even more intimate space for you and a mate. Try using these tips and other rules of Feng Shui when working to create harmony in the bedroom and watch as your relationships thrive.
